Kris Sterkens is the Company Group Chairman of Janssen EMEA and the Managing Director of Janssen Pharmaceutica. In his 30 years at Janssen, his roles have included Company Group Chairman Janssen Asia Pacific and Managing Director of EMEA Mid-Sized Markets, of Janssen in the Netherlands, the Benelux countries, and Germany. Kris holds a degree in Applied Economics from the University of Antwerp, a Master’s degree in Financial Management, and an MBA from the Solvay Business School in Brussels.

Under Kris his leadership the EMEA region has outperformed expectations year-on-year and achieved record growth despite the challenging market and geopolitical landscape.

Kris is dedicated to honouring the wider societal responsibility Janssen and J&J have as an organisation. To support this effort, he took on the role of Chairman of the J&J Foundation for the EMEA region. He is also a keen advocate of Equity and Inclusion and the Executive Sponsor for the J&J Open & Out (LQTBQIA+) initiative in the region.
