About Lynn Bar-On
I worked as a physiotherapist in three different continents before completing a PhD in Biomedical Sciences on the quantitative assessment of spasticity in children with cerebral palsy—a framework that still informs clinical guidelines today.
With three consecutive personal grants from the Dutch and Flemish governments, I led independent research before joining Ghent University as a tenure-track professor. I now apply my biomechanical expertise to study movement in children with Developmental Coordination Disorder (DCD), raising awareness for this condition and highlighting motricity as an early, transdiagnostic marker across neurodevelopmental conditions.
