Annemiek Verkamman is managing director of HollandBIO, the Dutch biotechnology industry association. HollandBIO’s mission is that life sciences and biotechnology are able to contribute maximally to a sustainable and healthy society.  With the motto “challenge the status quo”, HollandBIO takes on the obstacles that stand in the way of the frontrunners in our membership. . HollandBIO is very proud to represent over 225 companies: startups, SMEs and multinationals that are active in the fields of medicines, vaccines, diagnostics, food, cultured meat or the biobased economy.  Annemiek is a chemist and economist by training and has been blazing trails in the life sciences for over 20 years. She has served as managing director of HollandBIO and one of its predecessors before a merger since 2012. Before that, Annemiek was amongst others director of the Life Sciences & Health innovation program of the Dutch Government and a product developer of diagnostic products for Sanquin.
