Sjaak has 30+ years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry.

After several leadership positions in regulatory affairs, quality and reimbursement in Yamanouchi Europe and Sanofi the Netherlands, Sjaak joined Janssen/Johnson & Johnson in 2002 as Head of Regulatory Affairs Europe for Centocor, the biotech franchise of J&J. From 2013 until 2020 he held the position of Vice President, Head of Janssen EMEA Regulatory Affairs, covering all therapeutic areas, as well the Local Regulatory teams in the region. As of March 2020 Sjaak was part-time Senior Advisor Global Regulatory Affairs for Janssen. Sjaak served as a Board Member for Janssen Biologics BV in Leiden and was a member of the Strategic Management Board of the Janssen Campus in the Netherlands. He retired from Janssen/J&J on 31 December 2024.

In December 2020, Sjaak Bot joined Lygature as Scientific Fellow Regulatory Affairs.

Sjaak was a member of the RSNN Steering Committee (Regulatory Science Network Netherlands) for almost 10 year and served from January 2022 until December 2024 as co-chair of RSNN, representing the pharmaceutical industry.

Sjaak has a Pharmacist Degree from the University of Leiden, the Netherlands
