The future is calling: Cell therapy @ J&J

CAR-T (chimeric antigen receptor T-cell therapy) is an innovative approach to eliminate cancer cells, which work by harnessing the power of a patient’s own immune system. They are created from the patients’ own T cells and are engineered to eliminate cancer cells expressing a specific antigen. To support the CAR-T program in EMEA, J&J has build in collaboration with Legend Biotech two CAR-T manufacturing centers in the Ghent area (Belgium). The QC laboratories operates from the existing J&J Beerse site. The presentation provides some insights on the set-up.

Gert Viville | CAR-T Quality Lead Director | Johnson & Johnson

Gert , Bio-engineer with 20 years at Johnson & Johnson, leads the CAR-T QA team for the EMEA region, focusing on the implementation of CAR-T in Belgium and the establishment of the local organization. Before CAR-T, worked across multiple departments, including MSAT and Operations at J&J Beerse and Schaffhausen and Pfizer Puurs both in clinical and commercial supply chain.
