About Kinga Matula | CEO and Founder at QurieGen

Dr. eng. Kinga Matuła, CEO and co-founder of QurieGen, obtained her PhD with the highest distinction at the interface of biology, chemistry, physics, and nanotechnology in 2020 from the Institute of Physical Chemistry, Polish Academy of Sciences. She published 11 articles, has 4 patents and 2 more patent applications and received a range of personal awards, and she was Principal Investigator in collaborative projects between Radboud University and Janssen Pharmaceutica.

Driven by a motivation to maximize the impact of her research, she co-founded QurieGen, after successfully completing the NWO Venture Challenge and the Mercator Launch Business Innovator Challenge. QurieGen is now looking to raise a sizable investment to kick-start activities.

About QurieGen

QurieGen (est. April 2022) aspires to revolutionize drug discovery. This biotech startup leverages a proprietary method of mapping cellular responses to drug stimuli. Uniquely, this disruptive technology reveals the full picture of the signaling pathways, replacing many different, mutually incompatible analytical tools that at best provide an incomplete picture of the cell response to drug perturbations.

QurieGen engages in collaborations with industry to unlock the understanding underlying mechanism of the drug candidates. Internally, the QurieGen R&D team (led by business and pharma industry experts, and Spinoza prize winner prof. Wilhelm Huck) will build a unique AI platform to predict cellular responses to drug candidate molecules enabling data-driven discovery.

This platform will obviate the most laborious and expensive components of drug development and derisk the drug discovery pipeline. QurieGen is in the process of raising a sizable seed round to keep first mover momentum and establish a strong brand as a pharma CRO (caterpillar stage), and data collection in order to launch the AI drug discovery platform in 2025 (butterfly stage).
