Guus Simons 
was trained as a chemist at the University of Nijmegen where he also got his PhD in molecular biology.He performed his post-doc at the University of Ghent, Belgium on the expression of interferons/interleukin in E. coli.Subsequently, he worked for eleven years at Keygene (Wageningen, the Netherlands) where he held positions as project manager and business manager and for nine years at the Netherlands Institute for Dairy Research (NIZO) as project leader.In 2004 he founded PathoFinder, a molecular diagnostics company based in Maastricht, the Netherlands to set a new standard in detection of pathogens causing an infectious disease. In 2011 he founded PathoNostics to design and develop high quality real time PCR kits for detection of fungal pathogens including resistance markers.
